2003 : Quench your thirst for knowledge

Sasol Techno X 2003

Third Sasol Science And Technology Exhibition

Quench your thirst for knowledge.

The third Sasol Techno X Science and Technology Exhibition surpassed all expectations, showing tremendous growth.

The number of exhibitors has doubled since the previous year. Visitor numbers have also grown steadily over the years with 40 426 registered visitors from seven provinces visiting this year’s exhibition.
Learners from 438 schools (258 secondary and 180 primary schools) attended and an all time record was set with 10 060 registered visitors on Friday 15 August 2003. One of many reasons why Sasol Techno X is such a popular exhibition is the fact that visitors are given the opportunity to participate through interactive displays.

A popular addition to Sasol Techno X 2003 was the rather noisy WOW shows presented on the hour.

These shows were packed with the unexpected, using science, maths and technology to demonstrate various scientific principles in an entertaining way to learners of all ages.

Aside from the obvious education advantages to learners, the local community also benefited from Sasol Techno X. Many temporary jobs were created and local schools had the opportunity to boost their school funds by selling refreshments and providing transport.

This year saw Sasol Techno X’s most successful year ever and 2004 promises to be even bigger!
